Building cultural competencies and truly listening to each other

January 26 is one of those times when the struggles of First Nations people to achieve social, economic and cultural equity come into focus.

Our latest article tells of two courses we did last year that caused us to reflect on these debates (still a debate?!?!?!) from a more informed and personal vantage point, thanks to the generous and thought-provoking learnings offered by both the Koorie Heritage Trust and by AIATSIS.

We’re keen for you to read this because these courses are available to everyone and they offer a big step towards a respectful and shared ‘cultural competency’ in this country.
