The history beneath our feet
We’ve recently been involved in the Goods Shed No. 5 on Birrarung/Yarra’s Northbank again. This time to discover what might lay beneath the wharf for Icon Construction who are currently working on the site. It’s not exactly archaeology because we didn’t get a chance to get down and dirty in the mud, but we did find a few interesting things you can read about here.
When thinking about places it’s just as interesting to look beneath as well as around and into a place. Often the layers of history beneath us are just as contributory or influential as those that are more obvious.
