There’s nothing crook in Tallarook!
Last year History@Work helped the Tallarook Mechanics Institute apply for a Local History Grant from the Public Record Office of Victoria. We are very excited to hear their grant has been awarded (thank you PROV!). Having recently finished working on a digital centenary timeline for the Queen Victoria Women's Centre building we are looking forward to working on another piece of digital work exploring the history of the TMI and its community.
We recently had a lovely day on our first visit to Tallarook (up the Hume Highway, just before Seymour). Stay tuned for updates and the launch of this exciting venture later this year. It will definitely include stories of wild men, Hume & Hovell, clogging (I kid you not), farmers’ markets and art shows. This much we know about the TMI already.
